The Friends of Thetford Forest Park has established two conservation groups. The first meets on the third Sunday of every month between 09:00 and 13:00 and performs various tasks which have include scrub clearance in and around the Goshawk Trail at Mayday Farm, clearing around the various ponds around High Lodge, and the construction and placement of bat boxes in and around High Lodge.

The 2010 and 2011 schedule for the Friends of Thetford Forest Park Conservation Group is now available. The schedule for this group can be viewed here.

The second conservation group is the Lynford Arboretum Conservation Group. Established in 2007, this group meets twice a month and undertakes the basic care of the arboretum.
